Is there a subscription?
No. You pay €5 once per Mac and every 1.x update is included. There is nothing to renew.
Why does DiskPearl ask for Full Disk Access?
macOS keeps Mail, Messages, Safari and other apps’ data out of reach by default. Without access, the scan undercounts and some items cannot go to the Trash. DiskPearl reads to measure; it moves nothing without your confirmation.
Can it remove something important by mistake?
Everything goes to the Trash first and can be restored. System locations, your account’s structure and DiskPearl itself are never offered, and an unknown folder needs an explicit check before it goes.
Does it send my files to an AI?
Never file contents. Only metadata — sizes, dates, technical names — after you have seen exactly what will be sent. You can mask more, use a local model, or skip AI entirely.
What is System Data, exactly?
It is the macOS storage category for everything that fits nowhere else: caches, logs, app support files, developer tools, backups of your devices. DiskPearl rebuilds it and shows it in orange on the map.
Is DiskPearl on the Mac App Store?
No. The App Store sandbox would stop it from reading your whole disk, so DiskPearl is distributed directly from this site.
